Apoio de praia dos Caneiros

The proposal is deeply influenced by geotechnical surveys and the plan which, together, determine the location and floor level of the building: built on stilts, it moves away from the concavity of the cliff where the previous restaurant, now demolished, was nestled, occupying a less concealed position. The implantation perimeter, delimited in situ, results from the redesign of predetermined constraints: to the east and north complying with the minimum distance from the cliff, to the south allowing the maximum possible advance in relation to the sea, and to the west tracing the "tangent" of the beach access and the associated visual axis.

The program distribution is organized around a central area of water blocks for bathing facilities and service areas supporting the food courts, located peripherally. The proposal also includes, in the redefinition of beach access, three distinct levels of relationship between the building and the crossing path: a more exposed area for the sale of ice cream and water; An intermediate area associated with support and assistance services for bathers, complementing the beach surveillance functions; and a more private area corresponding to the bar and restaurant. The articulation of service between the different spaces of the restaurant is possible internally through a storage area that formalizes the "blind" facade, contrasting with the cliff to the east.
